Turmeric

When no less an authority than the National Institutes of Health touts the potential health benefits of ginger, garlic, and turmeric, there’s a good reason to follow in our ancestors’ footsteps and make these natural healers a part of our diet.

The ancestors didn’t know about immunity, free radicals, or antioxidants. They just knew that certain foods could bring relief from a host of ailments, from nausea, inflammation, and joint pain to respiratory problems and tumors.

Our wise forebears had to hunt, harvest, peel, and chop these natural healers. Today, many healthful roots and herbs are readily available in super-convenient, fresh-to-frozen cubes from Dorot Gardens. Just pop out a pre-measured cube (1 cube = 1 tsp.) as desired. No waste, no mess — only fresh-tasting goodness that’s available whenever you need it.

With cold and flu season fast approaching — and to celebrate turmeric, the latest addition to Dorot’s popular line of frozen seasonings — Dorot offers up some super-simple recipes that harness the immunity-boosting powers of turmeric and two other ancient favorites: ginger and garlic. Turmeric is prized for its many health benefits including anti-inflammation, antioxidant rich and immune support. It’s been said that ginger helps removes toxins from the body, helps prevent infections, and promotes heart health. And who doesn’t love garlic? Aside from the amazing flavor, garlic is also a detoxifier and has been said to help lower bad cholesterol. Eat and drink to your health with this ultimate kitchen hack!

Dorot’s all-natural products are free of artificial preservatives and ingredients. They are vegan, gluten free, and free of dairy, soy, or nuts. They are also non-GMO, OU kosher, and halal.
