A 78-year-old man died after a fire engulfed his home in Williamsburg early Friday, authorities said.

Police found the man unconscious with “severe body trauma” after firefighters extinguished the blaze around 4 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other people suffered minor injuries in the blaze, which erupted on the 12th floor of a 13-story building on Ross Street shortly after 3 a.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
