Thousands across the world tuned in to Chai Lifeline’s inaugural virtual Global Gala on Tuesday, December 8, in support of the children’s health support network.
The online event was hosted by Fauda star Lior Raz, featured magic by David Blaine, and a special musical performance with renowned musicians.
Natalie and Danny Hiller of Lawrence were honored with the Children’s Champions Award. “We are fortunate to have witnessed the life-changing and transformative powers of Chai Lifeline up close,” said the Hillers, who have both volunteered for the 5 Towns i-Shine since 2015. “We are grateful to be able to do whatever we can to help local families confronting difficult and challenging times.”
Malkie Hirsch of Woodmere established The Greater New York School Crisis Intervention Initiative in memory of her husband Moshe, z’l. “After Moshe’s sudden death, Chai Lifeline was there to offer us support at every step of the way,” said Hirsch. “Their Project Chai crisis intervention team helped me navigate my own grief and helped my children process the traumatic loss of their father. Whether it was the children participating in Chai Lifeline’s afterschool i-Shine program or the ongoing support of Project Chai, Chai Lifeline was there for me during the most challenging of times.”
