Leaders of the Conference of Presidents said that they hoped that Secretary of State Clinton’s recent statement that Jonathan Pollard will serve his life sentence will not be the last word from the Administration concerning the release of Jonathan Pollard.
“As we have said, there is a growing consensus, even among some of those who were involved in prosecuting the case, that Jonathan Pollard should be released.
We hope that the President will act expeditiously on this matter without regard to the political calendar. It is time, on a humanitarian basis, that Jonathan Pollard, after serving more time than anyone ever served for a comparable crime, be granted clemency,” said Richard Stone, Chairman, and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman, of the Conference of Presidents.
