Free drive-through COVID testing began last week at the Five Towns Community Center located and will be expanded this week to the Five Towns Jewish Community Center (JCC).

Nassau County, New York State and Mount Sinai South Nassau have partnered to offer more testing opportunities locally, said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

Rapid molecular COVID-19 testing will be available Monday through Saturday at the Five Towns Community Center, 270 Lawrence Ave, Lawrence, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 7 to 11 a.m. All COVID-19 testing is provided free regardless of immigration status. Appointments are required, and can be made by calling 516-390-2888.

“We must keep the virus under control to ensure that schools, businesses, and houses of worship can stay open, and other still-closed industries can also open their doors,” said Curran. “Let’s continue to do our part by following the common-sense precautions, like wearing a mask, washing hands, and staying six feet apart.”
