History was made on May 14 as Israel celebrated Yom Yerushalayim and the opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem. While many Five Towners attended the festivities in person, including Ambassador David Friedman and Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, the Town of Hempstead raised the Israeli flag at a special ceremony and many schools incorporated the Embassy opening into their lessons.
