Fantasy Football

Mailbag Question:

Most leagues have their trade deadlines coming up in the next week or so. Which players are good trade targets for a final playoff push?

Some of the players I’m targeting most are Keenan Allen, Marlon Mack, and Kenny Golladay. Keenan Allen has been pretty meh all season, but we have seen this from him before. Last year he was among the best WRs in the second half and I fully expect that to repeat itself this year.

After the last two weeks, it’s easy to understand why trading for Mack is a good idea. He is getting all the carries in that backfield, and the Colts’ offense moves the ball very well leading to plenty of scoring opportunities for Mack. Unfortunately, Mack owners will be expecting a big return, but he may be worth the price.

Kenny Golladay has been terrible the last two weeks but for most of the season has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners. Now with Golden Tate out of the way, Golladay should see plenty of more work.

Players I Like This Week

Ryan Fitzpatrick is back under center for the Buccaneers and should be the best streaming option this week. In every game he has played, start to finish, he has thrown for 3+ touchdowns and 400+ yards. But be warned, if he struggles out of the gate we could see him get benched.

Nick Chubb has been solid as the Browns starter. This week he gets to play the Chiefs’ struggling run defense. As long as the Browns don’t go down by too much he should see plenty of work.

Russell Wilson has heated up drastically after the slow start and this is good news for both Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett. Until this point Baldwin has been a huge disappointment, but a meeting with the Chargers should be able to change his fortunes.

Those who listened to my advice and started O.J. Howard last week should do the same this week, as the Panthers have been atrocious against the tight end position this year.

Dallas D/ST gets to play the woeful Titans’ offense this week. Until they can prove they can muster up any offense, I will be picking on the Titans.

Players I Will Avoid This Week

Corey Davis and any other Titans you may consider starting should be firmly glued to your bench.

Best of luck in Week Nine.
