The Friends of the Israel Defense Forces New York Real Estate Division fifth annual golf outing at Glen Oaks Country Club in Old Westbury, originally scheduled for Monday, September 19, has been rescheduled for Monday, September 26.

Some 250 of New York’s most prestigious real-estate professionals are expected to attend. The gala will honor Matthew E. Kasindorf, Esq., chair of the real-estate department at Meister Seelig & Fein LLP, for his commitment to Israel’s soldiers and for his leadership in the New York real estate community.

“The IDF’s brave soldiers protect Israel’s borders and ensure the security of Jews around the world,” said Kasindorf. “I personally believe that it is our moral obligation to support the wellbeing of these soldiers.”

The FIDF New York Real Estate Division was created in 2006 by a group of successful business and philanthropic leaders who were passionate about uniting members of the real-estate community to support the men and women who help protect and defend the Jewish State. Since then, this division has helped support several projects, including the construction of a wellbeing center at the IDF Revaya Base for Battalion 71 of the 188th Brigade, and the support of other wellbeing programs for soldiers. The real-estate division plays a central role in the activities of the FIDF tri-state region.

“The dedication and selflessness of Israel’s troops is incredibly inspiring–as is the tremendous support I’ve seen from New York’s real-estate community,” said FIDF New York Real Estate Division Chairman Shimon Shkury, who is also founder and president of Ariel Property Advisors. “It is my honor and privilege to stand with the soldiers of the IDF through Friends of the Israel Defense Forces.”

Also attending the daylong event will be active-duty IDF soldiers, including 1st Lt. Sivan, an Ethiopian Israeli who serves as an officer in the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit; wounded 1st Lt. Nir, who, with help from the Westchester community, has made a successful recovery after his special-operations task force was ambushed by Hamas, killing three of his friends and leaving him badly injured; and 1st Lt. (Res.) Danielle, who served as an officer in an elite signals intelligence unit in the IDF’s Intelligence Corps. Other distinguished guests will include FIDF national president Peter Weintraub; FIDF national board member and New York real estate division chairman emeritus Ofer Yardeni, who is chairman and CEO of Stonehenge Partners; FIDF national director and CEO Maj. Gen. (Res.) Meir Klifi-Amir; FIDF tri-state executive director Galit Brichta; and FIDF tri-state real-estate division director Olivia Lichaa.

The day will begin with registration at 9:00 a.m. and an 11:00 a.m. tee-off, and will include tennis and cycling. Cocktails and dinner will start at 5:00 p.m. Funds raised at this event will go toward FIDF wellbeing and educational programs for IDF soldiers.
