On Sunday, March 4, a delegation of six students, Zackary Plutzer, Batsheva Moskowitz, Tehila Baruch, Josh Vilkas, Josh Chiger, and Aeton Rabanipour, accompanied by faculty advisor Laura Eisner, represented HANC High School at the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, D.C.
The conference was action-packed and students had the amazing opportunity to hear from important leaders in the pro-Israel community, as well as government officials who support the strong relationship between the United States and Israel. While the energy in the crowd was most electric as the 18,000 conference attendees welcomed UN ambassador Nikki Haley and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the amount of high-ranking government officials who addressed the audience impressed upon the students the importance of the power of their voices in the pro-Israel political movement.
HANC High School students also attended a small Q&A session with Jason Greenblatt, assistant to the president and special representative for international negotiations, who spoke to the students about the administration’s work on a peace plan for the Israelis and the Palestinians.
The theme of the conference was “Choose to Lead” and the speakers and programs that the students attended truly inspired them to make that choice and further their actions for Israel.
