Students from the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County High School bikur cholim committee, spearheaded by senior Michelle Teitelbaum, visited Winthrop University Hospital on Tuesday, January 29. In preparation for the visit, they coordinated a school-wide food drive to supply the hospital’s Shabbos house for visiting families. The students collected a significant amount of food, which they delivered. Following this, the committee members set up the hospital’s pediatric playroom with craft projects where they created colorful pillows with the patients. The children who joined the activity had a great time telling jokes, laughing, and playing games with the HANC students. HANC participants left with a sense that they made a real difference in the lives of the children. This program represents one of the many ongoing chesed opportunities offered to students at HANC High School. v
