The IDF foiled on Wednesday evening an attempt by Gaza-based terrorists to fire a rocket at southern Israel.
According to a statement by the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, IAF aircraft hit a terrorist squad in central Gaza, as it was making final preparations to fire a rocket.
The statement added that the squad had been involved in previous rocket attacks on southern Israel.
A direct hit at the targets was identified.
“The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against anyone who carries out terror against Israel,” said the IDF statement, which added that the “Hamas terrorist organization is responsible” for any acts of terrorism which originate in Gaza.
On Sunday morning, terrorists from Gaza Â fired a Grad missileÂ at southern Israel. Officials said the missile landed in the Sdot Negev region, outside the town of Netivot.
No one was physically injured, but an agricultural hothouse was damaged and numerous residents suffered anxiety symptoms.
Earlier Sunday morning, Gaza Arab terrorists shelled the Eshkol region, near the border area.
The attack came at about 8:00 a.m., just as children were walking to school, and parents were leaving their homes for work.
A Kassam rocket launched by terrorists in Gaza exploded on Sunday evening next to a community in the Eshkol Council region.
No physical injuries or damage were reported.
Last Friday morning, PA Arab terrorists attacked southern Israel with rocket fire that struck a house in Sderot. No one was physically wounded but a resident was hospitalized in a state of shock.
