Jerusalem-Â Palestinian Media Watch reported Tuesday that the children's program Katakit, Arabic for Chicks, continued this week to indoctrinate Arab children against the State of Israel by listing sites within the Jewish state's 1948 borders as part of the "state of Palestine."
Â
According to the media monitoring and advocacy group, the television studio featured a map of the state of Israel bearing the legend "Explore Your Country," in which the entire area is titled Palestine.
Â
PMW also reported that children featured on the show discussed their travels to such cities in "Palestine" as Haifa and Jaffa.
Â
According to PMW Director Itamar Marcus, writing on his organization's website, "The Palestinian Authority alternates its messages between denying Israel's right to exist and denying Israel's very existence. This is one example of denying Israel's very existence, having it replaced by 'the State of Palestine.'"
Â
A transcript of the program, provided by PMW, highlights the continuing denial of Israel's existence in Palestinian Authority pedagogical programming.
Â
Host: "Do you enjoy going on trips? So show me where you've been on the map of Palestine." Children approach the map in the studio on which all of Israel is "Palestine." Girl points to places on map: "We went to the Sea of Galilee (Kinneret, lake in Israel) and to the Dead Sea." Boy points on map: "Jaffa, Haifa." (Israeli cities) Girl: "And Jericho." Boy: "And Jenin and Nablus." Host: "So you've visited many different places in Palestine, and that's very good. It's very good that we're always visiting new places in our state, Palestine."
