Last week Israel hosted Eurovision — a wonderful mix of interesting people flowing into Israel. We hosted a spectacular event!
I also sold an apartment from a buyer from my last event and sat with more of my clients who met me at my recent New York events. These events are proving to really assist our American clientele in starting their purchasing process.
Eurovision and my American visitors made me think of the massive spread of people looking for property in Israel. It’s amazing how I have clients from France, Argentina, Australia, America, and all over the world. It’s amazing what technology has done for our industry. Believe me, Israel is way behind the top agents in the States, but this is something that is changing. It also has me thinking: how do I keep on growing successfully in the business? Agents can never stand still! Our role is to make the customer experience as enjoyable as possible.
As properties start to become accessible via online tours, 3D/virtual reality experiences, or through “basic” methods like video phone calls, it’s making clients’ lives much easier, removing the need for spending thousands to hop on a plane to visit in person. The biggest issue good realtors need to deal with is balancing technology with the personal service and knowledge that adds to a good broker’s skillsets. I’m not quite out of business yet!
It’s very important to have a broker, especially abroad, who can balance the technology and the service to offer you the best service possible. So when will realtors not be needed anymore? My belief is that you will never replicate the on-the-ground service or be able to take away the negotiations from a person — certainly, the algorithms won’t work with your average Israeli seller!
Buyers: make sure you work with brokers who can communicate with you electronically, but, more importantly, still have the values of service and customer care.
