JERUSALEM (JTA) – Israel’s Air Force bombed four terror sites in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a rocket attack from Gaza on southern Israel.
The attacks late Monday night were in response to a rocket attack Monday evening on the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon. The rocket fired from Gaza landed in an open field, causing no injuries.
Israel’s military reported direct hits on what it called a terror activity site in the southern Gaza Strip, a weapon manufacturing facility in the northern Gaza Strip, and two weapon storage facilities in central and southern Gaza.
The rocket attack came a day after two rockets fired from Gaza on Ashkelon were intercepted by the Iron Dom anti-missile system and another two landed in open areas.
More than a dozen rockets have been fired at Israel in the last two weeks. Over 200 rockets have been launched from Gaza at Israel since the beginning of the year, according to the IDF.
