A new survey among expatriates from various countries ranks Israel four out of 20 places in the world, when comparing “family life” in the Jewish state to that of their point of origin.

According to the Family Life Index 2015, the Jewish state came in fourth place, based on survey results in the sub-categories of availability for child care and education; the cost of child care and education; quality of education; and family well-being.

In these sub-categories, Israel follows Finland in third place, Sweden in second and Austria in first. Israel came in third place for “family well-being,” after Austria and Australia.

A total of 41 countries was included in this year’s Family Life Index. To be included, each country needed more than 30 survey respondents who were expats raising kids abroad. The respondents were asked to rate the countries in sub-categories on a scale of one to seven.

Austria received the number one rank in the overall “family life” category.
