A recent study revealed that pictures of Israel with the hashtag #NoFilter boast the third highest amount of “likes” on Instagram, the UK’s Daily Mail reported on Monday.

The study was conducted on photos that had not been enhanced by any technological means, to get a sense of which countries are the most naturally beautiful.

The booking website Busbud analyzed the usage of the popular Instagram hashtag to determine the photos of which naturally beautiful countries are the most popular among Instagram users. According to the research, photos of the Jewish state that were not enhanced by Instagram’s many filters garnered 74.3 percent of “likes” by Instagram users.

Pictures of the Maldives not enhanced by filters were found to be the most popular on Instagram, with 230.5 percent of Instagram “likes,” followed by Lebanon with 75.2 percent.

The study also revealed that the country with the highest number of photo uploads on Instagram featuring the hashtag #NoFilter was the Bahamas. The website determined that 4.32 percent of photographs of the tropical location carried the hashtag.

According to Busbud, around 7 percent of Instagram users lie when posting the hashtag.
