An Elederly frum man, who was sitting in the back seat of a car driven by his son, died of an apparent heart attack at Catskill Regional Medical Center after their car was involved in a crash with another vehicle.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reported Martin Stern, 84, was taken to the hospital complaining of not feeling well and died there.  The driver was also taken to CRMC, where he is in serious but stable condition.

Deputies said his son, Frederick Stern, 50, was driving on Rock Hill Road in Rock Hill at 3:30 p.m. when a car driven by Pablo Minier, 24, of Willington, Florida, pulled out of Bernie’s Restaurant into the path of the Stern car, which struck his vehicle. Minier had recently moved to Sullivan County.

The accident remains under investigation.   No charges had been filed as of Friday evening.
