Discover music with meaning to uplift you during MarCheshvan, a month described as bitter and lacking joy. On Monday night, November 25, renowned teacher and scholar-in-residence of Chabad of the Five Towns, Rabbi Shais Taub, will be joined by popular Jewish singer Eli Marcus for a special presentation on the spiritual significance of music in Judaism. Eli Marcus will sing and accompany himself on piano while Rabbi Taub will share insights. The presentation will include songs from throughout the ages and from Jewish communities across the globe. The title of the presentation is based on a chassidic saying that “words are the pen of the intellect, but music is the pen of the soul.”
The event will be hosted at the home of Dr. Leon and Debbie Eisikowitz, 143 Harborview South in Lawrence, on November 25, beginning at 8 p.m.
Rabbi Shais Taub gives weekly classes in the Five Towns for women: Soul Maps at Chabad, Mondays at 10:30 a.m.; Weekly Parsha Insights at the Levi Yitzchak Library, Wednesdays at 11 a.m.; For men: Maamer Moment at Chabad, Mondays at 8 p.m.
