April 7 at 7 p.m., all Nassau County Fire Departments will sound their sirens to thank first responders and healthcare workers. The Village of Cedarhurst urges: “When you hear the sirens, please go out to the front of your home and join in by clapping and cheering to show your appreciation.

“At this critical time, it is especially important that we publicly and loudly demonstrate our appreciation and gratitude to the men and women who put their lives at risk battling an invisible enemy,” the mayor and village trustees said in a press release.
