Time To Recharge

I want to applaud the “Time to Recharge” retreat. This three-day, women-only spa event was the brainstorm of two creative Lakewood gals, Elisheva Brotsky and Netanya Margolese.

Some 175 ladies from every neighborhood in the metropolitan New York area signed up for a first-time unique experience. The purpose of the three-day enclave was to leave behind your stress, your families, and your jobs and refill your cup and concentrate on you for a change.

When we arrived at the Ocean Place Hotel and Spa we were dazzled by the beautiful oceanside location. The boardwalk was breathtaking. Of course the hotel itself offered all the spa facilities your heart could dream of. But the real entertainment was the program planned by Elisheva and Netanya—cake decorating, challah baking, watercolor painting inspired by the sunrise over the ocean, jewelry making, an afternoon of shopping in the ballroom of the hotel with every vendor you can imagine, picture-frame designing, shiurim by noted speakers, health issues addressed by two widely known specialists, swimming, sunrise walks on the beach and boardwalk, evening entertainment by two female performers who rocked the hall with song and comedy—what a surprise to me!

Every Jewish event must have food. Grunwald Caterers lavished us with meals and service that paralleled the finest of restaurants. The late-night treats featured gorgeous pastries and confectionaries that awakened the kid in all of us.

Restful and successful rejuvenation was had by all. We are returned home with a new outlook and many new friends. This maiden voyage will surely be the beginning of more happenings to come. I heard someone went home and called to sign up for next year. We all want to again give a warm and grateful thank-you to Elisheva and Netanya for recognizing the need for this type of event. See you in 2010! ♦
