State Police investigating the scene at Camp Shalva

State Police are investigating whether a kosher- food deliveryman snuck into bunks at an upstate summer camp for seventh- and eighth-grade Orthodox Jewish boys from Brooklyn and sexually molested several of them.

The shocking intrusion occurred in the early hours Wednesday at Camp Shalva in South Fallsburg, sources said.

5TJT  has confirmed with a source at the camp, that the molester is, convicted molester and registered sex-offender, Yoily Oberlander form Monsey, NY.

Our sources also tell us that he is currently employed by “Golden Taste” distributors.

Mr. Oberlander is also registered on the NY State sex offenders list, and records show that back in 2002 he plead guilty to molesting an 11-year-old girl, and was sentenced to 6 years probation.

When the boys complained in the morning, a supervisor checked security video, which showed an intruder walking in and out of the sleeping quarters, sources reported. But the boys were told to hold off on telling their parents.

Stephen Lungen, a criminal-defense lawyer and former Sullivan County prosecutor, told The Post he was contacted around 3 p.m. Thursday by frantic camp administrators, who asked what to do about the allegations.

“They were very upset and concerned about how to deal with it,” Lungen said, adding that he put them in touch with the DA and State Police.

Ben Hirsch, director of Survivors for Justice, a Brooklyn-based advocacy group for sex-abuse victims, said he was contacted about the allegations about 12:30 p.m. Thursday and immediately called the state Office of Children and Family Services, which referred the case to State Police.

Camp representatives could not be reached for comment.

  1. Before there was a meeting regarding the internet issue in the community, there should have been a meeting how to deal with pedophilia in our community.

How many stories do we need in order to get the proper wake up call? How many times can we use the words “Isolated Incident”? How many more children do we need to bury before we get everyone’s attention?

  2. How dare camp officials instruct children to keep parent’s in the dark? This is even worst than the original crime, it shows that they are more concerned about “their” image than the safety and effects this might bring to the children

  3. As bad as this story is, its not his fault, its our fault.

We have been tolerating these bums in our community for the longest time, we have been protecting them all along, and you wonder why this happens?

Rabbi Nuchem Rosenberg has been yelling to us for 5 years that this is going on a daily basis, and what did we do? The Rabbis told us we are not allowed to listen to him or communicate with him?

Each and every rabbi in our community gets the blame for this one.

Who knows how many stories they were able to hide from us?
