At a “schlissel challah” workshop given by Shoshy Skolnick of North Woodmere at her home last week, participants learned how to make challah from scratch and all were able to take home their own challahs. Many have a custom to place a house key on top of challah as it is baked the first Shabbos after Pesach to bring a segulah for parnasah into one’s home. The event raised over $430 for Root Funding for the Schochet family. In the merit of this mitzvah of tzedakah, may Devorah Rochel bat Miriam Chava have a refuah sheleimah.
