Lebanon based terror group Hezbollah has recruited agents with Western passports in its efforts to attack Israeli targets, a Western intelligence source told Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai on Thursday.

Hezbollah has attempted several attacks on Israeli destinations including the Israeli embassies in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Jordan, Cyprus, Greece and Egypt, Israel’s Channel 10 reported.

Al Rai’s source further claimed that there are signs of Hezbollah activity in Paris, Amsterdam and other world capitals. The source noted that Hezbollah employs officers with European, Canadian and Australian passports and recruits Lebanese citizens with Western appearances who could be deployed easily.

In July, the European Union elected to classify the military wing of Hezbollah as a terrorist group. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the decision, saying at the time that Hezbollah had recently, “…planned to execute dozens of attacks, some of which were actually carried out.”

At the time of the EU’s move, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon noted that Hezbollah’s terrorist activities are being, “…encouraged, guided and financed by Iran.”
