A recent report by Al-Quds newspaper indicates that U.S. President Donald Trump’s  Mideast peace plan, also known as the “deal of the century,” would not create a Palestinian state, and that Jerusalem would remain under Israeli control.

According to details published on Ynet news, the bulk of the Palestinian Authority, which would be an autonomy rather than a state, would be in Gaza, with political and economic links in the Arab communities in Judea and Samaria.

According to the report, Israeli communities in the West Bank/Judea and Samaria would remain in place, but would not be expanded. Security checkpoints would be significantly reduced, allowing for more freedom of movement for people and goods.

Additional reports this week suggested the United States would also infuse $25 billion into the Palestinian Authority by way of investments, a well as an additional $40 billion into Egypt, Jordan and potentially Lebanon, according to The New York Times.
