Police were asking for the public’s help Monday in finding two men who pretended to be police officers when they invaded a home on Staten Island and robbed the residents.
At 5:34 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 6, the robbers struck a home on Sheldon Avenue, which runs through the Woodrow section of the borough.
Pretending to be police officers, the robbers entered the house, as one of them took out a black handgun. They then stole items from the home, police said.
The second man was described as a black male with a beard, wearing a black and red baseball cap, a dark jacket, dark jeans and black boots.
The surveillance video shows the two men walking up to the front door, passing a front lawn adorned with Christmas decorations. The first man is seen taking off his sunglasses as he appears to talk to someone in the house, while the second man stands behind him and looks toward the street.
