Smiles filled the room as a group of Shulamith eighth-grade students joined Holocaust survivors and chayalim at the JCC.
The festive occasion was a pre-Rosh Hashanah celebration during which the students helped serve lunch to the seniors and took the opportunity to converse with them. It was also an opportunity to hear from members of Brothers for Life, a group comprised of chayalim who were wounded during their service in Tzahal.
The girls were especially moved when one of the survivors stood before the assembled chayalim and gave them a berachah for health and long life, and prayed for peace for Israel. May all of the attendees, from ages 13 to 90+, enjoy a sweet new year!
