Batter up, and hit a home run for the children of our community. If you have a strong batting arm and a warm heart, or if you just like having a great time while doing good, come to the TOVA Home Run Derby to help raise funds for the TOVA Mentoring Program.
On June 24, at 7:30 p.m. at North Woodmere Park, TOVA is running its first Home Run Derby as part of its new innovative programming to support the important work of the TOVA Mentoring programs. Besides the opportunity of showing their baseball prowess, participants in the evening will partake in an all-you-can eat barbecue sponsored by Brach’s and will be eligible for great prizes such as a round trip ticket to Israel, box seat tickets to Yankee and Mets games, and other great prizes. The evening is open to men ages 16 and above.
The Derby is the brainchild of Evan Blachman, president of the Croton Baseball League. All proceeds of the derby will go to further the important work of TOVA. TOVA, Torah Viable Alternatives Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in Cedarhurst, established in 1997. It has been providing mentoring relationships for over 1,000 children in the Five Towns and Far Rockaway neighborhood.
Yehuda Klinkowitz, TOVA’s program director, has been working tirelessly to make sure that every child in our community that needs a mentor gets one.
