A new yeshiva in the Five Towns/ Far Rockaway community is making its presence known with an erev Shavuos kumzitz. Yeshiva Kinyan HaTorah, also known as The Chassidisher Yeshiva of Far Rockaway and the Five Towns, currently has about 25 young men enrolled, studying and dorming in Bayswater through the week and over some Shabbos weekends.
The yeshiva will host a kumzitz at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at Machon Basya Rochel in Lawrence in memory of HaRav Yitzchok Aryeh Guttman by his son, the askan R’ Reuven Guttman. Brooklyn style cholent and kugel will be served.
Under the guidance of Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Toivya Hartman, the yeshiva has a full schedule from the early morning to late at night and invites the community to come in and learn with the young students. The yeshiva is located in Congregation K’hal Chesed V’Emes on Bay 24th Street.
