Target reports that with this opening, they now have 22 small-format locations and 86 total stores in the greater New York City area, which altogether employ nearly 19,700 team members. When it comes to Covid safety and employee perks, Target is ahead of the curve, investing $1 billion more in 2020 in the health, safety, and well-being of its team members compared to 2019. This includes five recognition bonuses, Target’s move to an industry-leading minimum wage of $15 in the U.S., paid leaves, coronavirus-related benefits, personal protective equipment, and a donation to the Target Team Member Giving Fund. Target offers increased safety and disinfecting measures and the ease and convenience of industry-leading same-day services, including Drive Up, Order Pickup, and Same-Day Delivery with Shipt.
Inclusivity is a core value at Target, and it established the Racial Equity Action and Change (REACH) committee to advance this work at a very critical moment in time and for the future.
