Customers at Hunki's

Situated in the heart of the community, 15 minutes from the Five Towns, Hunki’s of West Hempstead is a time-honored tradition with a young, fresh new image. Featuring a family-friendly vibe and delicious Italian/Israeli cuisine, the chalav Yisrael restaurant is under the strict rabbinical supervision of the Vaad HaRabanim of Queens.

Originally founded in Oceanside, Hunki’s has been in West Hempstead for nearly three decades. Since Hunki’s inception, West Hempstead has evolved into a vibrant and thriving Orthodox community of 1,600–1,800 families. With the exponential growth of West Hempstead’s Orthodox population, Hunki’s attracted an ever-expanding and enthusiastic following. Just as West Hempstead has evolved since Hunki’s first opened its doors, the restaurant itself recently experienced an exciting and seamless transition, spearheaded by its dynamic new owner, Eric Fiedler. The personable Five Towns resident is redefining the Hunki’s of West Hempstead experience with a plethora of palate-pleasing possibilities as well as a fully expanded catering department.

Eric has introduced a variety of features, including Uber Eats for delivery, as well as online ordering with in-store pickup. We highly recommend their delicious and exciting signature pies as well as their homemade melt-in-your mouth bourekas. With summer fast approaching, this is the perfect time to try zeppolis, ice cream, and the Impossible Burger.

Hunki’s Salad Bar has been creating a great deal of buzz with its variety of fresh and crisp salads. Delicious, healthy, and satisfying, these salads have become quite the rage, with dressings by TJ, an 11-year-old entrepreneur from West Hempstead.

TJ the dressing king

Eric has redefined Hunki’s, elevating it to a dining experience to be savored. Every detail of the menu as well as the restaurant itself has been planned to afford guests maximum enjoyment. Children as well as adults are engrossed doodling and making suggestions on the large chalkboard. Additionally, two big-screen plasma TVs provide entertainment.

Hunki’s can transform the mundane into the magnificent. You get one opportunity to make a lasting first impression and Hunki’s does so with great flair. With meticulous attention to detail, Eric has created an upscale, congenial setting for enjoying good company and savoring fine food. Following its recent extensive renovation, Hunki’s is truly a visual delight, providing an aura of elegance to any event, large or small. Whether it’s a quick meal, family night out, birthday party, business meeting, or any celebratory event, Hunki’s will plan it to perfection, coordinating every detail in great style.

Speaking of celebratory events, Hunki’s culinary artistry, world-class cuisine, and signature service will enchant your guests as you enjoy your simcha, devoid of stress. Relax and derive great joy and much nachas as you garner accolades for your extraordinary menu options. From a bar/bat mitzvah to a graduation party, from a bris to an engagement, Hunki’s has earned a sterling reputation for quality, integrity, and unsurpassed service.

Whether you are savoring the delicious cuisine at a simcha venue, in the restaurant, or at school, only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients are used in preparing their outstanding menu. Hunki’s of West Hempstead is proud of its longstanding bond as a vendor of many schools throughout the community. They invite schools and yeshivas throughout the area to avail themselves of delicious and nutritious lunch options.

Regardless of whether you are a resident of West Hempstead, the Five Towns/Far Rockaway community, or are coming from afar, we think you will agree that Hunki’s is an excellent choice for delicious chalav Yisrael dairy food, impeccable kashrus, and excellent, friendly service.

“Hunki’s pizza is simply delicious,” shares Y.M. “They have a very nice array of menu options at decent prices and quick and friendly service. We tried two varieties of vegetable pizza and both were delicious. The salads were fresh and crisp and delicious. A most positive experience!”

“You can’t go wrong with any of their yummy food,” enthuses R.S. “Even the basic slice of pizza is absolutely divine! So many delicious menu options to choose from and the food is consistently fresh and tasty every time. Outstanding product, nice staff, lots of ‘frequent fliers’ online to give advice on their favorite product, plus lots of wonderful food! A little bit of heaven in the heart of West Hempstead!”

Eric extends a cordial invitation to our readers to visit Hunki’s and “get a taste” of what all the buzz is about.

“We hope everyone is enjoying the new Hunki’s experience,” he says. “We appreciate your patronage and welcome all suggestions so that we can make Hunki’s the best it can be. Whether you are stopping by for a slice or two of pizza or a family night out, you’ll enjoy delicious food and great service in a warm and welcoming setting. It’s the hallmark of the Hunki’s experience.”
